IB Curriculum

Our curriculum is set up on the basis of our school mission and the students’ developmental needs.

The school offers Chinese courses including Chinese literature, history, geography, politics and mathematics. Meanwhile, we introduced IB curriculum, which is widely known as the most challenging and respected pre-university course of study anywhere in the world. Our goal is to create a pedagogical system suitable for Chinese and international students to follow the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and to provide advanced courses that leverage advantages of Chinese and Western culture.

Curriculum framework

6 academic areas are “Studies in Language and Literature”, “Language Acquisition”, “Individuals and Societies”, “Sciences”, “Mathematics”, “the Arts”. Each area has multiple courses with the standard and high levels, which allows flexibility for students with different interests, needs, and abilities. For 11th and 12th grade students, 3 subject courses, that is Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay and CAS are open for them.

Extracurricular activities

Micro film, digital photography, music, drama, orchestra, basketball, outdoor activities, book club, cooking class, Frisbee, American football, etc.

College counseling

Qibao Dwight has a professional team of college counsellors working with the team from global Dwight schools. Our counseling team will provide one-on-one counselling meetings and college application lectures to all students in order to help them and their parents understand the overall process of application, choose the appropriate majors, formulate individual college application/career plans, establish strong trust and consistent exchanges with different overseas universities.

Teaching language

All courses will be taught in English or bilingual language except for literature, politics, history, and geography, which will be taught in Chinese.

A varied extra-curricular structure is an important complement to the diversity of campus culture. To fit in with the school’s long-term vision, Qibao Dwight elective courses are provided by the school teachers based upon their professional expertise and personal interests.
